Scooby Doo Dog Themed Quilt

I've been working on some quilts for National Adoption month.  In November, a quilt will be given to each child adopted through Child Protective Services in San Antonio, TX.  This design of mine is a Scooby Doo dog quilt...

I had Scooby Doo fabric, and of course, I love Scooby Doo, so I made this one dog themed.  There is a dog at each corner, bone squares on a border, and a Virginia Reel in the middle.  I thought a nice swirl would make it look sort of mysterious like Scooby Doo mysteries.

I'm also working on another Scooby Doo quilt that I will post once I've got it done.

In retrospect, I think I should have used more contrasting fabrics.  I think the ones I used are a little too busy next to each other.  But it's still cute.

I'm only constructing the quilt top.  Another lady in our group will be doing the actual quilting with her machine.

I used my ancient Quilt-Pro software that I got in the 1990's to create the design.

I think rather than using the templates for some of the pieces, stripping and cutting may work better/easier.

But I'm including the templates pdf for all anyway.  And below are the template images.

Enjoy!
