RIP Fuji

It's been a while since my last blog post.  A couple months ago, we found out that Fuji had a mass that was blocking his bile duct.  Two weeks later, on the one year anniversary of my blog, he was gone.  He was so good.  He only wanted to please.  He loved food, that was his weakness.  But he still was a good boy, he'd try and try to contain himself around food.  Sometimes resulting in drool, sometimes he'd lick the air around the food, and sometimes we'd just let him have some.  Peanut butter was his favorite.  When, in the end, he no longer wanted peanut butter or any other food, we knew it was time.  He was so happy, always a light you could look forward to.  We miss him so much.  RIP my Fuji.

  1. I miss him too. He loved to swim. When Becky and me lived in Louisiana, we had a swimming pool, which Fuji claimed as his own. He would swim in it just about everyday.

  7. I know it's been awhile since Fuji passed but I just came across your blog and as a dog lover, reading this post broke my heart. It's amazing how quickly the four-legged furry creatures work their way into our hearts, and how much love we feel for them. Unfortunately that means when they go they leave a big pawprint shaped empty spot in our hearts. I'm mommy to a Boston Terrier who just turned 12 a few days ago, and just thinking about having to live without him makes me cry like a baby. Fuji was beautiful & I'm so sorry he's gone.

  8. I have a 14 and 1/2 year old Yellow Lab/Greyhound mix,Taylor, that is on medication for various issues. Took him in for a checkup yesterday with our four year old Black British Lab, Bella. Our vet's office introduced me to Dr. Buzby's Toe Grips brochure. Checking the web today, I came across your Blog and decided to see what you had to say. I want to Thank You from the bottom of my heart for sharing your story of your beloved Fuji with us. The only way I can get my Taylor to take his meds is "peanut butter" and lots of it!!! When he wont eat his food, I will mix in peanut butter and then he will eat all of it. I am so sorry to hear of Fuji's passing. You can rest assured he knew he was loved and he loved you also. What keeps me going is my faith and belief that we will again see our beloved companions in the after-life. God Bless You for your loving and caring heart.
